Children's Sunday School
Please join us for Sunday School at 9:45. Classes are held for children ages 2 through rising Grade 12 based on child’s age as of September 30, 2010. We offer age-appropriate classes taught by highly-qualified teachers and outstanding church volunteers. All children and youth were moved to their new 2010-2011 classes August 1, 2010. Classroom lists are posted at each building.
NOTICE: Parents must sign their child in & out from class. Children will no longer be released on their own to find a parent. Please help us to ensure the safety of all our children.
The Rock
Thank you to everyone who came out to play, volunteer, cheer, and make this event a success!!

Cookeville FUMC and First Baptist Church united together to sponsor this event in the FUMC gym. Rules.
Coach Marc Burnett (center, black T-shirt) was the lunchtime speaker. He told his story of how God was with him his entire life - whether he knew it or not at the time. He grew up in the projects in Alcoa, TN with his Grandfather having a major influence on his life. He played ball at TTU, completed multiple degrees, and inspired many young players. At the time he thought he was doing it all himself, but he now realizes he couldn't have done it alone. He challenged us to take a moment to notice how God is at work in our lives today.
Discipline, "behind the scenes work," and determination are life skills that can be learned on the court, but competitive sports and life are not the same. In basketball, we want to be first. In life, we want all of God's children to win. He reminded us that we're all on God's team.
Through recreation, teamwork, and Christian fellowship, we can help God's children love one another and grow closer to Christ.
The purpose of The Rock Adult 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments is to establish relationships that build a bridge between the community and the Church.

Requests may be designated as confidential (for pastors only) or to be shared with our Prayer Chain.

Wednesday Night Education Classes
The Education Committee is in the process of developing the class offerings for Wednesday Night Life which begins again in August. In addition to the Disciple and Bible studies, the committee is looking to offer special interest classes and short term classes.
Do you have a particular interest in a subject? Are you willing to teach a class? Some suggested topics have been gardening, creative writing, classes of historical interest...where is your interest? Let us know! You can leave a message for the Education Committee or in the church office, 526-2177.
