April 30, 2009 Issue of Cookeville Methodist newsletter now available
Good Afternoon!
First of all, I want to thank you for being a subscriber of this e-newsletter. We've received a positive response to our "quest" to have more people cancel the newsletter by mail and are now receiving it by email.
The current issue of the Cookeville FUMC Newsletter has been updated on the website and is now available for viewing. Of course, there is a lot of information to read, so here is the link with access to the newsletter:
Class schedule and make-up date
Tuesday classes have finished. I will miss all of my little friends-- especially those who will be going to kindergarten in the fall. What a wonderful time we have had together! The last class for Monday students is May 11, and remember our make-up class on May 5 at 9:15.
Have a great day!

Music Day
We had a great Music Day in the gym. Fifty-five parents and children came to enjoy fun and play in the gym, and enjoyed seeing the instruments surrounding the walking track. We had a french horn, clarinet, flute, piccolo, banjo, dulcimer, banjammer, and harp. Some of the children got to play their own french horn made out of household items. It was great fun. The facial art was wonderful-- little girls looked like princesses. The boys were tigers, lions, and also had many various face paintings. Thank you all for coming.
Problem resolution for April 23rd e-newsletter
I really LOVE Feedback!
Apparently there was a problem with the link access to this week's Cookeville Methodist newsletter in my update message yesterday. Some of you notified me that you encountered a problem using the link and only getting an error message: "Page Not Found." I am sorry for the inconvenience and I am grateful that you took the time to let me know so it could be fixed. It worked when I did my "test" message yesterday morning, but somehow something got changed and I was unaware of the error until I received messages of the problem.
Early Childhood Music Day
We will start at 11:00 with fun and play in the gym. Our photo opportunity will be at 11:30. Be prompt! Afterwards, we'll have instruments on the upper level on the walking track.
Thus far, I have confirmed a harp, french horn, clarinet, dulcimer, flute and piccolo, trombone, and I'm working on getting others as well. We will have a wonderful face painter and balloon artist, so come expecting some fun. I'll have light snacks, but we'll be finished by 1:00, so you will be out in time to grab lunch on the way home.
Thanks for visiting, and check back often.
Make a joyful noise!!

Make-Up Class and Music News
We will be having a make-up class for Early Childhood Music on Tuesday, May 5 at 9:15. As is tradtional, come in your pajamas, or if you prefer come complete with sombrero since this is Cinco de Mayo.
Remember Music Day is this coming Saturday, April 25 from 11-1. I hope to see you all there! See that blog entry for complete information.
Healthy Kids Day
I want to express my thanks to the YMCA for inviting me to be a part of Healthy Kids Day. What a great day we had! The weather was beautiful, and I had a wonderful time sharing our gathering drum, lollipop drums, jingles, shakers, and ribbons with the children participating in the event. Several of you asked about the Early Childhood Music Classes. Spring semester only has a few more weeks, and I'm waiting for confirmation on the Putnam County School schedule for next year before I plan our Fall classes.
