Mrs. Denna's Music

Snowdays

Hello, all. . . music classes are going strong for Spring semester. Be sure to keep us updated on phone numbers so that we can communicate regarding snow schedules. Materials have been ordered and should be here next week.

Enjoy the snow. Make a joyful noise!!

Spring Semester 2010

Spring semester starts January 25. Registrations are coming in, and I am looking forward to our upcoming semester. Scholarship assistance is available, so don't hesitate to let me know what you need. At this time, there are openings in all classes, but the 10:00 classes are filling up quickly. Hope to see you there!

Class Schedule

Hello friends. Just an update on our class schedule for the following week. We will not be having one of our regularly scheduled classes next week due to the Putnam County Schools Fall Break; however, I am doing a make-up class for those who have missed a class or just want an extra class. Come on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:15, and we'll make some music and have some fun!!

Have a great week!

Sept. 14/15

It is so much fun to see your children grow and develop through music. . . . If I ever need a substitute teacher, I will call on Daniel Ebersole who sang every song and pretty much every word! His movement ideas are better than most authors of children's music books.

What fun we had with drums this week. . . it's always fun to see budding young percussionists keeping rhythm not only with hands and mallets but also sometimes by drumming with their heads!

Class Updates

A big congratulations goes out to Jon Riley Monday. Jon Riley will become a big brother sometime around Valentine's Day 2010!! What a wonderful big brother he will be. Congratulations Monday family!!

Just a heads-up for those students in Monday classes. . . we will not meet on Monday, September 7. Have a great Labor Day.

Also, if you are ever in need of a make-up class, remember that Tuesday at 10:00 is a great time to do a make-up as that class is not yet full.

I have ordered family materials. They will ship out on 9/2, so hopefully we will have them soon.

Summer Fun

Hello, friends. . .it has been a wonderful summer. We in the music department have been busy, busy, busy! Lake Junaluska hosted an amazing music week. I was fortunate enough to work with Susan Pote, and also Allen Pote and Tom Long, the composers of "Table for Five . . Thousand" which was the musical that our children participated in. The week was not only an opportunity for spiritual rejuvination (the worship was great) but also was a tremendous learning experience for me. Working with such talents as Mr. and Mrs. Pote and Mr. Long left me feeling like I had been on Broadway for a week.

Music Graduation

Congratulations to all who have finished Spring Semester Early Childhood Music classes. It was a wonderful semester, and I look forward to fall. Watch for your brochures coming in the mail in June.

Be sure to check back for updates on VBS June 8 - 11, music week at Lake Junaluska June 21 - 26, and Kaleidoscope Music Camp July 6 - 10! Call the church office-

Have a great summer!

Class schedule and make-up date

Tuesday classes have finished. I will miss all of my little friends-- especially those who will be going to kindergarten in the fall. What a wonderful time we have had together! The last class for Monday students is May 11, and remember our make-up class on May 5 at 9:15.

Have a great day!

Music Day

We had a great Music Day in the gym. Fifty-five parents and children came to enjoy fun and play in the gym, and enjoyed seeing the instruments surrounding the walking track. We had a french horn, clarinet, flute, piccolo, banjo, dulcimer, banjammer, and harp. Some of the children got to play their own french horn made out of household items. It was great fun. The facial art was wonderful-- little girls looked like princesses. The boys were tigers, lions, and also had many various face paintings. Thank you all for coming.
