August 20, 2009 Newsletter Last week at Jere Whitson Elementary

Our church continues to reach out to the Jere Whitson community and the teachers and staff there. Four volunteers were on hand to help make Registration Day on August 10th go smoothly. Thanks to Kay Greenwood, Diane Decker, Ed Edenfield, and Lynne Maddux for their help. August 11th was a Teacher Work Day for the teachers at Jere Whitson. These teachers have spent their summer moving and are starting the school year tired. They needed a boost and to be told how much they are appreciated. Betty Hardison, Kay Greenwood, Nita Whitfield, Rita Craighead, Connie Albrecht, Carole Rinks, Karla Bennett, and Lynne Maddux made baked goods and prepared fruit, cheese and sandwich supplies for the teachers there at work. Barbara Hughes, and Carolyn Campbell arranged flowers from Jan Jordan’s garden for the table. Our love and support was felt for these teachers. We let them know how important they are to us and to the children at Jere Whitson.
