Maunday Thursday - Seder Meal

This year on Maundy Thursday, April 9th, we will have a Seder meal (also known as the Passover celebration). The word “Seder” in Hebrew means “set order” or “service.” Our Jewish friends celebrate the Seder during Passover which reminds them of how God led them out of slavery in Egypt. The final plague about which Moses warned the Pharaoh was the death of all first-born sons. The Hebrew slaves were told to mark their doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their homes and their families would be safe. The last supper Jesus shared with his disciples was this Passover meal.

Come join the Fellowship Committee for a Seder meal in the CLC. We will gather at 5:45 p.m. and start promptly at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the traditional Seder foods during the ceremony, we will share a familiar “build your own sandwich” meal. The celebration will end in time to walk across the street for the Maundy Thursday communion service starting at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. There is no cost for the Seder celebration or the meal. You will not need to bring anything but yourself. Please register by Monday, April 6 by calling the church office, registering at the table in the narthex, or when a committee member visits your Sunday school class.
