Inclement Weather Policy
Based on the weather this week, we thought it best to review and update our “Inclement Weather Policy”. In doing so, it became obvious that there is a general policy and a Wednesday specific policy.
If there is inclement weather on a day other than Wednesday, the church office will make a determination whether activities will be cancelled for weather related purposes. If an activity is cancelled, an announcement will be posted on the homepage of the church web-site by Noon and the activity leader will be informed. Participants should contact their leader or the church office with any questions. When activities are cancelled, the facility will not be open nor will anyone be available to open or close the facility.
If there is inclement weather on Wednesday, the decision of the Putnam County Schools will influence our decision. There are two options. First, if schools are closed during the course of the school day resulting in early dismissal of students, there will be no Wednesday activities. The church will not pick up students if school is closed prior to the normal end of the school day. It will always be the responsibility of the parents to provide transportation for their student if school lets out early.
Secondly, if schools are closed prior to the start of school, a decision regarding Wednesday activities will be made by Noon. The homepage of the church web-site will be updated with that information. Activity leaders will be contacted. Class members will need to contact their class leader with any questions. Something to remember, if Wednesday activities are cancelled, all activities are cancelled (choirs, Disciple studies, youth activities, choir club, and the meal).
The primary concern for cancellation of activities is safety. We hope to make the best decision for the safety and welfare of those who participate in the ministries of the church. Your support and understanding is appreciated.
