God's Grace Food Pantry
Our food pantry serves Second Harvest Food, donated canned goods, toiletries, and "hotel items." The food pantry is open the second through the last Tuesday of each month from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m in the basement of the Wesley Chapel.
Donations are gladly accepted at the reception desk of the Wellness Center. Please remember the pantry with your gifts and prayers; every can or dollar is well used. We always need your support. Your CONTINUED donations and financial support are vital to the success of this ministry.
SUMMER 2010 NEWS FROM CHERIE WHITE
Methodist Seminary, Mexico City
There is much to share on Methodism, Mexico and the Seminary:
1. The Seminario “Dr. Gonzalo Baez Camargo” had its graduation and closing worship service on June 19 and 5 students graduated. At Annual Conferences next week, they will receive full time pastoral appointments, which can be daunting after 3 years of just weekend appointments. Keep these graduates, the regular students, and the new incoming students in your prayers.
Youth Mission Trip - Pictures
20 Cookeville FUMC youth and adults have safely returned from a week of mission work in Oklahoma City (June 27 - July 3). They touched the lives of many while working with the local rescue mission, food bank, and non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together.

SPRING 2010 LETTER from Cherie R. White - Methodist Seminary, Mexico City
SPRING 2010 LETTER from Cherie R. White - Methodist Seminary, Mexico City
Recently, a student in chapel mentioned how he often feels tired on the weekend after an arduous week of classes, but then has to go preach at his 2 weekend pastoral appointments & often feels he does not have the energy to do so. As he walks the 40 minutes between one church & the next, he ponders on the previous worship service & the joy of the upcoming one, since the members of the church are always glad to see him & be able to worship. He gave thanks for that privilege & the renewal it entailed for him.
Christmas 2009 Greetings from Cherie White to Supporting Churches & Friends
What a wonderful & renewing time these 3 ½ month of church visitation have been!
It has been good to reconnect with many of you, to make new friends & see that God is at work everywhere & I am deeply grateful for your support. The news from the U.S about increased troops to the Middle East, conflicting viewpoints on health care reform & a lack of reform in immigration laws is very discouraging to us in Latin America. To see that many of you in the U.S. are concerned from a Christian standpoint is encouraging.
J.O.B.S. MINISTRY
Did you notice the new yellow cards in your pew? These cards are one of our primary methods of generating “information flow” for our congregation’s J.O.B.S. Ministry. Please feel free to take this with you and share the J.O.B.S. Ministry with your friends and neighbors who have experienced unemployment, who need help finding a job, OR who might know of jobs available in our area.
JERE WHITSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MINISTRY
During Mid-June 2009 Senior Pastor Max Mayo put out the call to the Adult Sunday School classes to help with this new ministry to assist Jere Whitson Elementary teachers and students.
A MONTH AT GOD’S GRACE FOOD PANTRY
Do you know about all that it takes to run a successful, well organized Food Pantry?
Jeanette Goryl took the time to prepare “A MONTH AT GOD’S GRACE FOOD PANTRY” that gives us all a description of what it takes to meet the need that keeps growing. To say the least, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to the ministry.
