Greetings from Ms. Kathy:
Hello to all! As school is starting back and we are all setting our weekly schedules, I hope that you will make Choir Club an important part of your child’s activities. We strive to give your child a faith-based music education that not only involves them in the life of the church as active participants in worship, but also equips them with lifelong music, worship and leadership skills.

Choir Club is for children age 3 (by September 30, 2011) through Grade 6. The Wednesday afternoon activities will include: choir time, instrumental instruction, worship arts activities, Bible, creative movement, musicals, worship service participation and special seasonal service participation.

Choir Club will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. The first day of Choir Club will be Wednesday, August 17th. Parents are asked to sign their children in and out of Choir Club. We ask that your children arrive no earlier than 4:20 p.m. and be picked up promptly at 6:00 p.m.

The Choir Club activities for 3 and 4 year olds will meet in the CLC, rooms 402 and 404 (2nd floor of the CLC). Check in and pick up for 3 and 4 years olds will be CLC 402. Kindergarten through Grade 6 will meet in the music rooms on the second floor of the main building. Check in for K-Grade 6 will be at the end of the cross- walk in the Sanctuary Building. Pick up will be in 206B for K-3rd grade and in 209 for 4th-6th.

Music reading skills and music fundamentals are taught through the instrumental time in Choir Club. Our elementary instrumental track will include drumming, boomwhackers, Orff, handbells and recorders. Worship Arts for grades K – 6 will feature a variety of activities throughout the year. The preschool Choir Club curriculum incorporates movement, Bible and instruments in addition to Choir time.

The success of our Choir Club program is dependant on our wonderful volunteers who teach, travel with and nurture our young singers. We ask that you prayerfully consider what your contribution of time and talent will be.
