Prayer Ministry
Prayer Chain: Prayer chain participants pray for requests that are received through the church office. These requests go out weekly or on an emergency basis. Prayer team members make a one year commitment. Each Sunday attendees may fill out the prayer request form on the tear-off strip of the bulletin and place it in the offering plate. Requests may be designated as confidential (for pastors only) or to be shared with our Prayer Chain.
Prayer may also be requested by posting a request online , by e-mailing drew@cookevillefumc.org or by calling our Prayer Chain number, 526-2177.
Prayer Pals: A church-wide opportunity (ages 3-adult) to sign up for a prayer pal. You are asked to pray for your prayer pal and our church daily for one year. You may contact your prayer pal as you wish to obtain specific requests. Parents are asked to assist the younger children in their daily prayer times. Confirmand Class Prayer: Participants on the prayer chain are assigned (if they wish) an individual confirmand. Participants will pray daily for that child, the teachers, and the confirmand class collectively.
National Day of Prayer: Occurs the first Thursday of each May. Our church participates in community-wide prayer activities (prayer breakfast and a noon prayer service at the Courthouse).
Prayer Room: Prayer room is available for anyone to use. Requests or praise reports may be left on the board as desired. Hours are listed next to the prayer room door at the Wesley Chapel.
Prayer Walkers: People walking laps on the track at the gym may pray as they walk. A list of pastoral / pulpit prayer concerns will be located next to the gym sign-in sheets. Simply pray over the names as you walk your laps and then return the list when you sign out.
Pray with the Pastors: Anyone may come and pray with the pastors just prior to the Sunday morning services. Prayer times are 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the pastor’s office area. This brief prayer time is uniquely devoted to praying for the Sunday morning services.
