Celebration of Giving - Stewardship Brunch

What an exciting time for First United Methodist Church in Cookeville! We are so pleased to have the Mayos and the Shelleys as our pastoral staff, our services and Sunday School classes are infused with new energy, and our many ministries continue to thrive and grow!

With all of this excitement, we have a real opportunity to enhance all that we do for next year through our upcoming Stewardship Campaign on November 16th during both services. It’s no secret that our church and its ministry need financial resources as nearly everything has some cost. But it’s important to remember that without financial resources the potential costs to the spiritual lives of our families and our community could have eternal consequences!

I want to invite you to the Celebration of Giving brunch on Sunday, November 16th, at 9:30 a.m. in the CLC hosted by the Foundation Class. We hope that Sunday School Classes will adjourn for that morning to attend so that we can all share in the celebration of what God provides us through our church.

I said it last year, and still maintain that our financial support of our church is not about our money--it’s about our character. Not everyone can give the same amount, but we each can share in the heart and spirit in which we give. I hope as we approach November 16th, you will prayerfully consider what God would have you do for the life of this church.

Yours in faith,
J. Mark Hutchins
