Travel Buddies
Travel Buddies is a group that organizes trips for fellowship, entertainment, and education.
All departures are from the parking lot below the Wesley Chapel. Reservations, unless otherwise noted, are made by check in the church office.
Information is subject to change. Watch Cookeville Methodist or call the church office 526-2177. Reserve early because space and tickets may be limited. We encourage you to join us on our travels!

February 24 (Friday) Dinner at Crawdaddy’s at 5:30. See “The Diviners” at CPAC at 7:30. The drama is
about good, simple people living in a small town in the early 1930s. Cost for the play is $8 for seniors;
$10 for adults. Please reserve by February 17.
March 25 (Sunday) Attend the Community Hymn Sing at the Schermerhorn in Nashville with the Nashville symphony and choir, along with contemporary Christian music stars.
April 3 (Tuesday) Lunch at Cumberland Mountain State Park. See “Sound of Music” at the Playhouse.
May 10 (Thursday) Kingsport. Lunch on your own ($8-11) at “Red Bones on the River” on the patio overlooking Watts Bar Lake. Visit Fort Southwest Point constructed in 1797 and Kingston Antique Mall. Cost $7. Reservations by April 27.
June 12 (Tuesday) Nashville. See historic churches including Church of the Assumption, Monroe UMC, and Downtown Presbyterian. Cost $7. Depart 8:00. Reserve by June 7.
July 26-27 (Thursday-Friday) Cherokee, NC. Drive the 100,000,000 mile high Cherohala Skyway to Cherokee with scenic views. See “Unto These Hills,” that retells Cherokee history in the outdoor mountainside theater. Overnight. Visit the Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual before returning via Newfoundland Gap through the Smoky Mountains.
August 14 (Tuesday) Visit Fontenal Mansion and Farm, former home of Barbara Mandrell, located just north of Nashville. Lunch on your own at Ricard’s café. Cost $25. Reserve by July 30.
September 28 (Friday) Mystery trip.
October 12 (Friday) Crossville Palace Theater Storytelling Festival. Brunch first on your own at Crossville Cracker Barrel. Cost $15. Depart 9:30. Reservations by Sept. 28.
November TBA Edgar Evins Pontoon Boat Color Cruise. See homes of country music stars.
December 10 (Monday) “Christmas in Old Appalachia” at Museum of Appalachia in Clinton. Traditional trees and homemade decorations. Musicians singing carols by the fire. Lunch on your own at the museum restaurant. Cost $23. Reservations by Nov. 30.
