The Rock
Thank you to everyone who came out to play, volunteer, cheer, and make this event a success!!

Cookeville FUMC and First Baptist Church united together to sponsor this event in the FUMC gym. Rules.
Coach Marc Burnett (center, black T-shirt) was the lunchtime speaker. He told his story of how God was with him his entire life - whether he knew it or not at the time. He grew up in the projects in Alcoa, TN with his Grandfather having a major influence on his life. He played ball at TTU, completed multiple degrees, and inspired many young players. At the time he thought he was doing it all himself, but he now realizes he couldn't have done it alone. He challenged us to take a moment to notice how God is at work in our lives today.
Discipline, "behind the scenes work," and determination are life skills that can be learned on the court, but competitive sports and life are not the same. In basketball, we want to be first. In life, we want all of God's children to win. He reminded us that we're all on God's team.
Through recreation, teamwork, and Christian fellowship, we can help God's children love one another and grow closer to Christ.
The purpose of The Rock Adult 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments is to establish relationships that build a bridge between the community and the Church.
